Submitting information:  In order for your boat to be listed I will need to have two photos: 1/4 off the bow, and 1/4 off the stern, no particular side as long as both sides are shown.  The photos should be taken with the camera about a foot or so above the water.  They should be cropped so the boat fills the photo left to right.  The finished/cropped resolution must be 590px Wide by 443px High.  Higher resolution photos can be submitted and Lew will do the resizing, bightness and contrast, and cropping to fit the frames.  Lew can take the photos at one of the meets.  Use one of the models below as an example for submitting the text information.

1. Model Name:  "City of Buffalo"       Type:  Excursion/cruise steamboat
Builder:  Jim N.     Owner:  Jim N.
Scale:  1/48    Size:  7-3/4 inches wide X 33 inches long
Kit:  Dumas City of Buffalo
Accessories and additional Functions: Steam whistle sound; smoke generator (home made)
Comments:

2. Model Name:  "Miss Amelia"       Type:  Commercial salvage utility boat  (also the club's rescue boat)
Builder:  Lew Z.     Owner:  Lew Z.
Scale:  1/20 (approx.)    Size:  10-1/2 inches wide X 25 inches long
Kit:  (Scratch built)
Accessories and additional Functions:: Removable padded front yoke for rescues.
Comments: The hull is an ex-balloon boat.  Very maneuverable for a single prop boat, simple and reliable.

3. Model Name:  "44347"       Type:  U.S. Coast Guard 47 foot lifeboat boat
Builder:  Howard H.     Owner:  Howard H.
Scale:  1/16    Size:  33 inches long
Kit:  Dumas #1203 (plank on frame}
Accessories and additional Functions:  Running lights & Flashing Blue light. Three Army Rangers converted to "Coasties" with life vests added.
Comments:  My first RC model. It was necessary to modify kit to provide easy access to internal components and water barriers since it was not designed with coaming protection.

4. Model Name:  Lackawanna       Type:  Commercial coal fired steam tugboat
Builder:  Jim N.     Owner:  Jim N.
Scale:  1/48    Size: 6 inches wide X 33 inches long
Kit:  Dumas
Accessories and additional Functions: Steam whistle sound; smoke generator (home made)
Comments:

5. Model Name:  "Elena" ("H-103"       Type:  Private fishing trawler (British, early to mid 1950's style)
Builder:  Lew Z.     Owner:  Lew Z.
Scale:  1/20    Size:  10 inches wide X 33 inches long
Kit:  Modified Artesania Latina "Helen" - ABS hull (long out of production)
Accessories and additional Functions: Working lights
Comments:  I would have never considered a trawler but I got this partially built kit as part of a package deal.  I had to redo almost all that was done (not too much) and add a lot of details (nets, fish, crew, mast details &rigging, and a lot of "deck clutter").  This "double ender" is a fun boat to operate and watch.  The nets will cause the boat to lean in a strong wind but it keeps going.

6. Model Name:  "M/V David Sizer"       Type:  Commercial towboat
Builder:  Lew Z.     Owner:  Lew Z.
Scale:  1/35    Size: 8-1/2 inches wide X 27 inches long
Kit:  (Scratch built)
Accessories and additional Functions: Horn sound; smoke generator (Taigen tank); turning radar, 5 crew figures.
Comments: This towboat is without a doubt the most fun for me to operate.  Each motor (two) is independantly controlled and combined with the six rudders (two regular and four flanking) will spin in either direction without any forward motion.  The magnets in the tow knees can pickup the barge (next) remotely in the water.  Has "towed" (pushed) a combined weight of 190 pounds with ease.

7. Model Name:  "258"       Type:  Dumb (unpowered) utility barge
Builder:  Lew Z.     Owner:  Lew Z.
Scale:  1/35    Size: 13 inches wide X 29 inches long, approx. 12 pounds
Kit:  (Scratch built)
Accessories and additional Functions:
Comments: Has magnets built into the deck to hold items.  Without deck items it can be used for other scales.

8. Model Name:  "   "       Type:  Private cruiser boat
Builder:  Martin B.     Owner:  Martin B.
Scale:  1/16    Size: 49-1/2 long
Kit:  Dumas #1211

9. Model Name:  "H.H. Springer"       Type:  Commercial towboat
Builder:  Howard H.     Owner:  Howard H.
Scale:  1/24 (approx.)    Size:  8 inches wide X 18 inches long
Kit:  (Scratch built)
Accessories and additional Functions:  Running lights, tug horn and operational fire monitor. Captain at the helm with his black cat on the roof.
Comments:  Boat model is built to meet the basic Springer specifications which specify the hull shape and size.  Also, the 6 v battery and motor, prop size, and rudder size.  Springer boats are used in competition at some of the RC Meets.

11. Model Name:  "Linder Lou"       Type:  73 foot commercial fishing trawler boat
Builder:  Howard H.     Owner:  Howard H.
Scale:  1/24    Size:  36 inches long, 16 pounds weight (approx.)
Kit:  Dumas trawler "Rusty" (modified)
Accessories and additional Functions: I added continuous rotation servos so the outriggers can be remotely lowered or raised.  The crew in addition to the captain is busy sorting shrimp and tending to the rigging.
Comments:  The model was modified and renamed to more closely look like the shrimp boat named "Linder Lou" that was built in 1978 in St Augustine.  The kit is plank on frame and is well designed.  The model runs good, just need room for the outriggers to operate.

12. Model Name:  "George W. Washburn"       Type:  Commercial steam tugboat
Builder:  Jim N.     Owner:  Jim N.
Scale:  1/48    Size:  5-1/2 inches wide X 30 inches long
Kit:  Dumas
Accessories and additional Functions: Steam whistle sound; smoke generator (home made)

Kit:  Scratch built with pre-made fiberglass hull
Accessories and additional Functions: Smoke generator, two 6V batteries, electronics to simulate steam engine and whistle sounds.
Comments:
I scaled dimensions from Navy pictures and plans that were available. For fabrication of the super structure, I purchased a kit of the Lackawanna which is the same scale 1/48. It is a smaller tug, but provided the parts that I could modify to achieve the correct dimensions for Buttercup.

Builder:  Jim N.     Owner:  Jim N.
Scale:  1/48    Size: 66 inches long by 9 inches wide
Kit:  Scratch built from plans
Accessories and additional Functions: Sound, remote ballast (water) fill.

Scale:  1/12    Size:  28 inches long
Kit:  Midwest Boothbay lobster boat.
Accessories and additional Functions: Model was built 10 years ago and converted to RC operation last year. It does not have a bow thruster, but this may be a future consideration.
Comments:
The design of the Albin hull was based on the New England Lobster boat design. After purchasing the kit, kit, modified the plans and used parts as necessary to create the Albin model.  [Based on a full sized boat owned by this builder.]
